If you ask any secondary school NZ kid about their social media rolodex, Aliya’s TikTok inevitably pops up.

Balancing school and sports while managing Type 1 diabetes, her feed covers off much lip syncing alongside her antics playing rep level netball and touch, hanging with friends, to fitting in all that NCEA course work (of course).

A natural beauty whose only non-negotiables include mascara everyday, dry shampoo and a hair straightening tool, you’re more likely to find her in the latest trending sneakers and a tank, than towering heels.

While still working on her career highlights, Aliya has aspirations and an awareness beyond her 16 short years and is painting a realistic and healthy picture of success for the many Gen Zs that look up to her.
